Job Summary
Mortgage Underwriter, Third Party Residential Underwriting for BMBE-based operations in Vancouver, BC. Responsible for rendering credit decisions within authority limits, applying due diligence to documentation, and ensuring adherence to company and insurer policies. Establish and maintain relationships with mortgage brokers, insurers, appraisers, title insurers, and solicitors; adjudicate applications; coordinate with insurers to finalize lending decisions; prepare mortgage commitments with conditions; manage high-volume workflows while maintaining service excellence. Requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to mentor others and work within AML/compliance guidelines. Office-based role with normal business hours in a Canadian financial services environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years mortgage underwriting experience
- Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
- Completion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) License an asset
- Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment
