Job Summary
Mortgage Underwriter in Pittsburgh, PA responsible for underwriting and approving residential mortgage loan applications, reviewing documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, performing income analyses, reviewing appraisal reports, coordinating with Mortgage Insurance when needed, and ensuring HMDA, FCRA, and ECOA compliance. Must underwrite loans according to GSE, Secondary Market, or Portfolio guidelines, advise on loan structuring, and escalate within authority limits; participates in training on fraud detection and guidelines; reports to supervisor of Mortgage Underwriting. Strong ability to assess risk, process documentation, and communicate effectively with Loan Originators and Processing partners.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- 3 years related mortgage underwriting experience
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- MS Word (Basic)
- MS Excel (Intermediate)
- MS PowerPoint (Basic)
- Familiarity with Desktop Underwriter, Loan Prospector, Clout, Zippy, eMagic, RMIC, MortgageBot, easyLender
