Job Summary

Supervise day-to-day loan origination activities for a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, ensuring required documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured timely. Meet specific loan volume origination goals established annually and establish referral source relationships with real estate brokers, builders, and external sources. Actively participate in local and state mortgage banking and trade associations while recruiting new talent and retaining employees through development and engagement. Maintain thorough industry knowledge and establish partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage to promote customer relationship growth and additional product sales. Requires NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, including criminal background and credit checks.

Required Qualifications

  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of mortgage sales experience
  • Must be able to meet the applicable requirement of performing their duties outside of their regular place of business

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of sales and sales strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends
  • Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies
  • Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, as gained through on the job training or some real estate brokerage experience
  • Familiar with local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.)
  • Well-developed customer service/relations skills
  • Strong attention to detail orientation, and ability to analyze financial information
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
