Mortgage Retail Sales Consultant (SAFE)

Job Summary
Solicit residential mortgages from various sources and produce high-quality, compliant loans while providing excellent customer service. Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, and past customers to develop marketplace visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Receive customer applications, quote rates, and complete follow-up activities including registration lock-ins. Analyze low to moderately complex financial and credit data to match client needs with appropriate loan programs and levels of risk. Inform clients of mortgage programs, rates, policies, and underwriting requirements to maintain high standards of client satisfaction. This role requires SAFE registration and adherence to the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
- SAFE registration at the time of employment
- Ability to lift 20+ pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
Desired Qualifications
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months referred primarily from established, local, external sources
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Mortgage industry experience
- Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
- Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
- Customer service experience
