Job Summary
Mortgage Originator responsible for interviewing applicants to collect and analyze income, assets, debts, and credit data; independently assess credit worthiness; issue pre-qualification statements; determine suitable loan programs (FHA/VA/conventional) and advise on advantages/disadvantages; promote bank mortgage products; cultivate new mortgage business; travel to customer homes or businesses; negotiate loan terms; ensure regulatory compliance under the SAFE Act; monitor real estate market trends and community outreach; present seminars to real estate agents and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 2 years sales experience. Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law.
