Job Summary
Performs centralized underwriting for consumer mortgage loans, reviews applications, analyzes credit history and other financial documents to assess repayment ability, and determines loan decisions within established guidelines. Escalates above guidelines as needed, ensures compliance with mortgage lending regulations and credit union policies, communicates decisions to mortgage loan officers, prepares disclosures and borrower checklists within regulatory timelines, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to maintain pipeline volume and quality.
