Job Summary
Mortgage Loan Originator at UT Federal Credit Union in Knoxville, TN. Responsible for expanding the credit union's residential mortgage loan portfolio by cultivating new and existing member relationships, guiding borrowers to suitable mortgage products, interviewing applicants, counseling on loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements, and coordinating with processors to close loans. Acts as Relationship Manager for assigned accounts, engages in marketing outreach, attends meetings, and stays current on policies and regulations. Performs notary and Medallion Signature Guarantee services as requested, and participates in branch and community activities to develop lending opportunities and cross-sell related products. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a client-focused sales mindset; adheres to service standards and complies with regulatory requirements (SAFE Act, NMLS).
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree; plus one to three years' related experience in sales and lending services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of financial products and services.
- Compliance with SAFE Act, NMLS.
- Demonstrated sales skills and ability to meet sales goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to process account entries and transactions; write routine reports; communicate professionally with members.
- Professional appearance; dress code compliance.
- Technological and computer literacy.
