Job Summary
Originate mortgage loans in an assigned Non Bank territory by taking applications, conducting preliminary underwriting reviews, and submitting loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Follow up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources. Make and solicit loan sales while conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations, spending at least 50% of time outside the office. Requires National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration, three or more years of experience in mortgage, sales, or real estate, and a satisfactory criminal and credit record.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three or more years of experience in mortgage, sales, or real estate
- National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
- Ongoing compliance with all legal or regulatory registration requirements, including, but not limited to maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record
- Ability to meet the applicable requirement of performing their duties outside of their regular place of business
Desired Qualifications
- Self-starter
- Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies
- Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, as gained through on the job training or some real estate brokerage experience
- Familiar with local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to analyze financial information
- Sales oriented
- Established referral base within assigned market
