Mortgage Loan Originator

Originates mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory; takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Follows up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured from appropriate sources. Incumbents spend at least 50% of time conducting activities away from U.S. Bank locations. Requires NMLS registration under the SAFÉ Act and Regulation Z, with criminal background and credit checks; driving 2+ hours per week. Well-developed sales ability, knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA and local laws, ability to analyze financial information, and strong verbal/written communication skills. Role is posted as remote with hybrid onsite requirement (on-site at least three days per week) for those near locations.
