Job Summary
Originate mortgage loans sourced from referral partners, retail branches, and marketing efforts for builders, realtors, and other sources. Self-source leads, convert them into applications, and present personalized mortgage products to potential customers. Produce required disclosures, procure intent to proceed, collect borrower documents, and work with internal departments to ensure timely loan closing. Consistently achieve monthly loan production volume, develop business plans for growth, and network with assigned bank branches and local organizations to generate leads. Evaluate customer needs, offer appropriate mortgage products, and provide ongoing relationship servicing to maintain goodwill and gain additional business. Respond to inquiries, assist with servicing requests, and refer other bank products as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience originating residential mortgages
- Must have existing referral network established to provide mortgage leads
- Must have prior experience using loan originating software and MS Office products
- Strong product knowledge and underwriting requirements for Conventional and Government (FHA, VA, USDA) mortgage programs
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Must have or ability to obtain Mortgage Loan Originator License with NMLS
- Must be trained in all areas of mortgage lending
- Must maintain employer and industry required continuing education
- Must be able to self-source mortgage leads
- Must be able to convert leads into applications
- Must be able to present personalized mortgage products and solutions to potential customers
- Must be able to produce required disclosures
- Must be able to procure intent to proceed
- Must be able to collect borrower documents needed to satisfy loan conditions
- Must be able to work with internal departments to ensure a superior customer experience and timely loan closing
- Must be able to consistently achieve monthly loan production volume as specified in the MLO Agreement
- Must be able to generate new business to assist in meeting established goals
- Must be able to develop and maintain business plan for growth of this business area
- Must be able to network with assigned bank branches, internal departments, employees, local organizations/businesses, realtors, builders, and other referral sources to generate mortgage leads
- Must be able to evaluate needs of potential customers and offer appropriate mortgage products and services, or provide referral to appropriate specialist within the Bank
- Must be able to prepare and compile mortgage application and information for processing of mortgage loan applications generated
- Must be able to ensure completeness of loan documentation
- Must be able to oversee timely closing and funding of loans
- Must be able to provide ongoing relationship servicing with current mortgage customers to maintain goodwill and gain additional business
- Must be able to respond to mortgage inquiries and assist with mortgage servicing requests
- Must be able to promote and refer other bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements
- Must be able to provide data to support marketing and sales promotion programs
- Must be able to work directly with sales manager to assist with CRA loan initiatives in local market
- Must be able to meet all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, as well as all related First Financial Bank policies and procedures
- Must be able to comply with Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements
- Must be able to comply with all other lending and deposit compliance requirements
