Job Summary
Conduct mortgage loan origination by contacting prospective clients, meeting borrowers, and attending closings while maintaining relationships with realtors and other referral sources. Take thorough loan applications, analyze credit and applicant information to determine loan viability, and correct inaccuracies to recommend appropriate loan options. Provide guidance on product risks and benefits, explain terms, gather required documentation, and submit loan packages for processor review. Act as a liaison for all transaction parties, including buyers, sellers, and title companies, while solving complex loan scenarios and clearing underwriting conditions. Operate independently within regulatory guidelines, utilizing sales strategies to self-source business through cold calling and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum 1 year of Mortgage Origination experience
- Thorough understanding of mortgage products, pricing and guidelines
- Up to date understanding of all regulatory compliance
- Ability to take accurate and thorough loan applications
- Possess a working knowledge of credit reports, DTI, LTV, and CLTV ratios
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and outstanding customer service
- Ability to create, implement and adapt a market penetration strategy for lead development, prospect to client conversion, and client to close conversion
- Ability to self-source business through sales activities including cold calling, appointment setting, and group presentations
- Ability to create marketing systems to source new business as well as keep in touch with existing clients, realtors, builders, etc
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer
- Must be occasionally required to move about inside an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
- Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Must have near visual acuity for working on a computer, far visual acuity, and peripheral vision necessary for driving a motor vehicle
- Must occasionally lift and/or move boxes or equipment up to 20 pounds across office or while traveling to clients for various needs
- Must be generally subject to inside environmental conditions having the lighting, temperature, and noise level of an open floor-plan office environment
- Must occasionally be outdoors and exposed to hot or cold weather, and wet and/or humid conditions
- Must frequently be required to travel to other locations, e.g., client or prospect locations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office, Encompass and other similar software
