MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATOR

Job Summary
Source and originate residential mortgage and home equity loan applications inside and outside the credit union, prospecting new business through a self-developed network of realtors, builders, and industry professionals. Conduct consultations at homes, businesses, and branches to gather documentation, guide borrowers through the loan process, and ensure files are complete and accurate. Collaborate with processing and closing teams to navigate applications from start to finish while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and referral partners. Strictly adhere to compliance guidelines, including the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act, TILA, and BSA/OFAC regulations, and attend mandatory training programs. Requires three years of self-sourced origination experience, proficiency with Calyx and FDU, an active NMLS license, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of successful experience in mortgage loan origination
- Strong emphasis on self-sourced business development
- Comprehensive knowledge of conventional, FHA, and VA loan requirements
- Proficiency with mortgage software such as Calyx
- Proficiency with Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter
- Proficiency with FreddieMac Loan Product Advisor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Attendance to compliance training programs
- High School diploma or equivalent
