Mortgage Loan Officer

Job Summary
Originate mortgage loans in compliance with company and regulatory policy. Provide service to applicants seeking home loans, including interviewing, pre-qualification, and gathering documentation. Communicate with customers regarding loan status, manage loan pipelines, and maintain existing referral sources. Ensure adherence to TowneBank Mortgage Policies and Procedures and participate in community outreach. Requires active NMLS#, designation in mortgage origination, and strong interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Active NMLS#
- At least 1-year experience originating VA, FHA, Conventional and VHDA loans
- Proven sales record based on closed loan production
- Possess sources of referral business for purchase transactions
- Awareness of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and VHDA underwriting guidelines
- High degree of personal integrity
- Self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge of Encompass origination software
