Job Summary
Originate mortgage loans in compliance with company and regulatory policy, providing service to applicants and prospective customers seeking home loans. Responsibilities include interviewing, pre-qualification, gathering supporting documentation, reviewing regulatory disclosures, and quoting interest rates. Maintain existing referral business sources, input application data, utilize automated underwriting systems, and communicate loan status professionally. Manage a pipeline of loans, mentor other Loan Officers, and participate in community outreach functions. Applicants must have an active NMLS#, relevant loan origination experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Active NMLS#
- At least 1-year experience originating VA, FHA, Conventional and VHDA loans
- Proven sales record based on closed loan production
- Possess sources of referral business for purchase transactions
- Awareness of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and VHDA underwriting guidelines
- High degree of personal integrity
- Self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge of Encompass origination software
