Job Summary
Residential Mortgage Lender in San Antonio, TX seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to generate mortgage loans through external business development and internal partnerships. Responsibilities include qualifying borrowers, guiding applicants through the loan application process (1003), assessing needs to recommend loan types, educating on options, informing on required documentation, preparing disclosures under RESPA/TILA, calculating borrower income/assets per lender guidelines, using Loan Prospector or Desktop Underwriting to determine eligibility, managing relationships with customers and real estate agents, collaborating with processors to ensure timely closings, maintaining regular customer communication, and staying updated on RESPA, HMDA, MDIA, HVCC, Regulation B, and Flood requirements while ensuring compliance and understanding underwriting requirements for conventional, FHA, and VA loans.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in mortgage loan origination, credit evaluation, underwriting, or processing.
- Strong understanding of compliance and problem-solving skills related to residential loan origination.
- Exceptional customer service skills; highly motivated, focused, and goal-oriented.
