Job Summary
Conduct residential mortgage origination by meeting with customers, interviewing applicants, completing applications, and resolving outstanding conditions. Prospect and network with local centers of influence including Realtors, attorneys, and builders to build referral sources. Explain loan products, outline terms, and assist underwriting by analyzing credit and tax returns for self-employed borrowers. Manage community lending events and seminars while cross-selling deposit accounts and investment services. Communicate effectively with branches and the retail lending department to ensure compliance and profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4 to 6 years' experience in mortgage lending
- Customer Service oriented
- effective communication skills
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of loan products, forms, documentation, and compliance issues, including timeliness of mortgage loan processing, within the loan origination function, as well as secondary market underwriting
- registered with the NMLS system
