Job Summary
Interview loan applicants and those requesting refinancing or loan modifications, assisting members with the application process including pulling credit reports and verifying debts. Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports, calculate debt-to-income ratios, and ensure real-estate loans are processed accurately. Communicate regularly with members, realtors, and others via in-person appointments, phone calls, or electronic methods to provide information on current policies. Develop mortgage loan business through seminars and calls to realtors, contractors, and other institutions while resolving complaints professionally. Maintain positive working relationships with real estate agents, attorneys, and contractors to ensure continued mortgage avenues. Comply with all company policies, applicable laws, and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Two to five years of similar or related experience
- Familiarity with sound analytical and lending procedures
- Knowledge of lending compliance guidelines and state and federal regulations
- Willingness to follow internal policies and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency
- Must operate standard office equipment, including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators
- Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary
- Must work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management
- Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance
