Job Summary
Mortgage Loan Officer in the Houston market focused on self-sourced production and community engagement. Build and nurture relationships with REALTORS®, builders, and community organizations; guide both members and non-members through the mortgage process and educate them on Conventional, FHA, VA, and portfolio loan options. Maintain CRM to track all phases from initial contact to closing; attend closings when possible; provide timely loan information and post-closing follow-up. Represent UFCU at community events and homebuyer workshops, participate in outside referrals, and pursue ongoing learning (minimum two professional seminars annually). Ensure compliance with RESPA, HMDA, and other regulations, and stay current on mortgage guidelines while developing a sustainable pipeline in the Houston area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of recent residential mortgage loan origination
- Proven ability to originate Conventional, FHA, VA, and portfolio loans
- Valid NMLS registration and compliance with SAFE Act requirements
