Job Summary
Develop, maintain and solicit residential first mortgage and HELOC loan business through relationships with real estate agents, community organizations, and other referral sources to promote awareness of HFCU’s products and services. Guide members through the mortgage application process, conduct interviews to complete applications, counsel on credit and affordability, explain rate/terms/closing costs, and respond to inquiries. Plan and present real estate financing seminars/workshops; actively manage loan pipelines and provide timely follow-up. Complete loan data in POS/LOS systems, ensure compliance deadlines, and collaborate with Operations to achieve timely approvals and closings. Cross-sell HFCU products, stay informed on market trends, and contribute to process and policy improvements. Required proficiency in communication, organization, relationship-building, and customer service, with flexibility for extended hours and occasional travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5 – 8 years of verifiable, successful expertise in Real Estate Loan origination (or applicable sales related experience) with working knowledge of all state and federal mortgage regulations (Fannie Mae and VA)
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours
- Must become registered as a Hanscom Federal Credit Union Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate information over the telephone and in person
- Willingness to work hours outside of the typical 9am-5pm week, including weekends, as responsibilities require
- Must be authorized to work in the US
