Job Summary
Originate and close mortgage loans through extensive marketing initiatives, new and existing relationships, and external sources. Generate referral business and leads by leveraging interpersonal skills with individuals, past clients, and real estate professionals. Cross-sell First United Bank products and services while working with bank personnel to promote the institution in assigned markets. Take thorough loan applications, analyze credit, determine correct loan options, and submit documents to processing. Counsel borrowers through the application, approval, and closing process, including review of the Closing Disclosure. Meet production standards, attend assigned meetings, and complete annual compliance exams. Requires two years of mortgage lending experience and a current record of closing at least two self-sourced loans per month.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least two years' experience in mortgage lending environment
- Proven record of success for generating sales in a mortgage lending environment
- Currently working as a Mortgage Loan Officer closing a minimum of 2 self-sourced loans per month
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of Bank, Mortgage, Federal and State lending and compliance/regulatory matters
