Job Summary
Mortgage Loan Officer will originate residential mortgage loans in New Jersey (including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA, and First Time Home Buyer programs) through a referral network and direct outreach. Responsibilities include interviewing applicants to gather financial and property information, guiding borrowers through the loan process from application to closing, staying informed about local real estate trends and regulatory changes, and presenting mortgage programs to individuals and professional groups. The role requires travel to branch locations, customers' homes and businesses, and delivering presentations when requested. Must possess strong sales skills, excellent customer service, and proficient computer skills; experience with mortgage origination software is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum three years of experience marketing and originating residential mortgage loans
- Must have effective sales skills
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal to no supervision
- Must be willing and able to travel to assigned branch locations, customers' homes and businesses, and perform presentations when requested
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have proficiency using Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Proficiency with industry standard Mortgage origination software programs strongly preferred
