Job Summary
Lead a high-performing mortgage team to grow the loan portfolio by nearly $4 million, drive sustainable growth through community partnerships, and oversee operations ensuring compliance and efficiency. Actively solicit outside business, cultivate referral relationships, and serve as a visible ambassador for mortgage services. Own performance outcomes including production, pipeline health, and profitability while implementing coaching plans and enforcing accountability for all team members.
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in mortgage lending, credit union's loan policies, products, procedures, and underwriting guidelines
- Strong understanding of mortgage law, regulations, and the secondary market
- Mortgage loan processing functions including FHA, VA, and conventional lending
- Two to Five years of similar or related experience
- Minimum of two years of mortgage lending experience
- Supervisory experience
- Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site
- Must renew registration each year and update when changes to name, address, etc. occur
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use mortgage lending and financial software systems
- Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong problem solver
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgement, and a positive attitude
- Maintains a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Availability between 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday
- Occasional weekends, before and/or after-hours events
- Department meetings or company trainings start at 7:45 AM on some weekdays
- On-site Tyler, Texas
- Occasional travel required
Desired Qualifications
- A college degree
- Plus if applicant is bilingual (fluent proficiency Spanish and English)
- Supervisory experience
