Job Summary
Mortgage Banking Officer responsible for originating residential first mortgage and equity loans while engaging in business development. Conducts applicant interviews, analyzes financial data, completes loan applications, coordinates with processors/closers, and guides members through the loan process. Builds relationships with branch partners, provides education and support to enhance referrals, and participates in branch sponsorships, seminars, and marketing initiatives. Requires NMLS licensing, two+ years in mortgage lending, an associate degree (or equivalent), strong communication, and cross-selling abilities; travel to assigned branch/Call Center locations with hybrid in-office schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in mortgage lending or related banking
- NMLS training and license
- Valid driver’s license
- Associate's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to cross-sell and educate members on products
- Familiarity with mortgage policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory compliance (SAFE Act)
