Job Summary
Originate home loans by driving new sales within the assigned lending territory, managing client bases, and increasing market share. Support relationship-building with internal and external referral partners, including visits to Commerce branches to meet customers and discuss mortgage products. Assist with managing the production pipeline, coordinating with the fulfillment team, and communicating between borrowers and partners. Review and evaluate applicants' financial status, creditworthiness, and property evaluation to determine eligibility, customizing financing options to fit lending guidelines. Support pre-underwriting activities by obtaining and analyzing documentation regarding employment, credit, income, assets, and collateral, ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations. Manage an active loan pipeline of up to 20 pre-funded loans and a lead pipeline of up to 150 clients, delivering best-in-class client care and timely updates. Maintain accurate documentation in lead management and loan origination systems, providing feedback to leadership, marketing, and technology teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of mortgage products
- Basic credit risk analysis and loan origination skills
- Ability to focus on customer's needs, both internal and external, to develop and sustain productive customer relationships ensuring the opportunity to increase products per household
- Ability to achieve an exceptional level of technical and professional skills/knowledge in job-related areas; keeping abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise
- Ability to take prompt and proactive actions to accomplish objectives
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria
- Ability to attend on-site trainings in Kansas City as needed
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

- Associates degree in business management/finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year lending experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Basic level of proficiency with Encompass, Blend, Microsoft Office Suite, Optimal Blue and Total Expert
