Job Summary
Originate and close mortgage loans by engaging directly with clients, real estate brokers, builders, and developers to generate leads and solicit business. Counsel customers on eligible products, assist with loan applications and documentation, and oversee the loan process by monitoring status and coordinating with processors. Maintain an active NMLS number in compliance with federal regulations, establish ongoing relationships with referral agents, and network through industry functions to promote loan products. Meet minimum production standards, attend closing transactions, and adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements while supporting bank cross-selling initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Active Ameris Bank sponsored Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) number in compliance with the federal S.A.F.E Act requirements
- Experience using mortgage origination applications
- Effective utilization of a contact management system
- Knowledge of mortgage products/servicing, operations, and current market trends
- Proven mortgage production of $5 million over the past year
- Proven success in establishing referral relationships
- Minimum 1 year of Mortgage experience
- Minimum 1 year of Customer Service experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Adherence to established minimum fees and product pricing structure
- Adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements
- Meet and exceed the minimum production standards as detailed in the compensation agreement
- Complete all required training
- Adherence to work schedule as designated by manager
- Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with Ameris' core values of Integrity and Honesty
