Job Summary
Assess mortgage applications, collect and evaluate documentation for accuracy, and provide personalized guidance on suitable mortgage options aligned with member financial goals. Build lasting relationships with members to understand unique needs while fostering strong connections and proactively identifying referral opportunities. Engage in community outreach initiatives to expand the member base and ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Oversee all lending documentation from initiation through delivery, maintaining accurate records and safeguarding the credit union. Report to the Branch Manager at the Powell River and Texada Island locations, with occasional travel required to support Texada Island members.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma
- 2-5 years' experience in financial services, preferably within the credit union system
- Minimum 2 years of direct retail lending experience
- Demonstrated understanding of lending principles and practices, with specific knowledge of consumer lending products and regulations
- Proven sales and business development understanding, with a track record of achieving targets and goals
- Education or equivalent experience with Products & Services, Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning, Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending, and Business Financial Statement Analysis
- Note: This position is expected to travel occasionally to support members at our Texada Island Branch
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and communication across all levels of the organization
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve, with strong organizational skills and emphasis on time management and prioritization
- Commitment to adhering to FCU Community Financial's policies and procedures, maintaining compliance and integrity in all aspects of work
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, performing under pressure with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and flexibility

Desired Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Wealthview banking system functionalities, including workplace operations and form utilization considered an asset
