Job Summary
Assess mortgage applications by collecting and evaluating documentation to ensure accuracy, then provide personalized guidance on suitable mortgage options aligned with members' financial goals. Build lasting relationships with clients while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and credit union policies to offer compliant lending advice. Manage the seamless processing and delivery of mortgage solutions from initiation through disbursement, overseeing all related documentation for precise record-keeping. Engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness and expand the member base, proactively identifying referral opportunities to support financial growth. Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and internal policies while delivering exceptional service throughout the mortgage process.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma
- 2-5 years' experience in financial services, preferably within the credit union system
- Minimum 2 years of direct retail mortgage lending experience
- Demonstrated understanding of lending principles and practices, with specific knowledge of consumer lending products and regulations
- Proven sales and business development understanding, with a track record of achieving targets and goals
- Education or equivalent experience with Products & Services, Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning, Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending, and Business Financial Statement Analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of banking system functionalities, including workplace operations and form utilization considered an asset
