Job Summary
This outside sales role originates residential real estate mortgage loans for Credit Union members and non-members, focusing on non-member volume. Responsibilities include developing mortgage origination leads through networking with clients, Realtors, and trade organizations; responding to inquiries and conducting loan interviews; preparing complete loan packages compliant with product eligibility, underwriting guidelines, and government regulations; maintaining timely communication on loan status and documentation; ensuring client service standards are met and aligning with the Credit Union’s core values; and obtaining/maintaining NMLS registration per SAFE Act provisions. Strong knowledge of residential real estate and construction loans, experience in mortgage origination, ability to manage relationships with clients and staff, proficiency with loan origination systems (preferably Encompass), and a track record of organized, customer-focused service are required.
Required Qualifications
- NMLS registration
- 5+ years in an outside sales, mortgage origination role
- Strong knowledge of residential real estate and construction loans
- Working knowledge of Encompass mortgage LOS preferred
- Ability to conduct loan interviews and prepare complete loan packages
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal staff
- Compliance with FNMA, FHLMC, and applicable investor guidelines
- Ability to respond to inquiries and manage loan status
- Self-motivated, self-starter
- Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills
- Must be able to work indoors at Credit Union locations and meet clients off-site as needed
