Job Summary
Conduct daily newscast production by deciding story order, writing teases, timing programs, and editing video. Write and order news stories, approve scripts, and balance content to create compelling broadcasts across broadcast and online platforms. Post video to the website, write stories for eMedia, and interact with viewers on social media. Meet multiple deadlines to produce engaging newscasts for WRWR, a Nexstar Media Group station serving over 220 million people.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years' experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
