Job Summary
Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting surfaces. Empty trash receptacles, replenish supplies, and clean windows, doors, walls, and fixtures while operating custodial equipment safely. Assist with setting up and breaking down facilities for special events and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, vandalism, or security issues to the appropriate supervisor. Ensure school buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, orderly, and presentable condition by following all district safety procedures, cleaning protocols, and security requirements. Work a late afternoon to early evening shift with specific hours discussed during the interview.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the public
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Operate cleaning equipment and use custodial supplies safely
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Must be willing and able to work a late afternoon to early evening shift
- Must complete an online application through the PowerSchool Applicant Tracking System
- Must submit all required documentation before the application deadline
- Must successfully complete criminal background checks
- Must successfully complete fingerprinting
- Must successfully complete drug screening
- Must successfully complete verification of employment eligibility
- Must successfully complete verification of education and work history
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or related experience preferred but not required
