Job Summary
Montessori Assistant Teacher (Assistant Teacher II) in Bezos Academy preschools in Louisville, KY. Supports lead teachers in delivering Montessori-inspired instruction, observing and assessing each child, and promoting early literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, organized classroom, assisting with records, and supporting families. Full-time, 40 hours/week with comprehensive benefits; compensation $18-$25/hour ($37k-$52k annually), with training options to obtain a MACTE-accredited Primary Montessori credential within two years.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Primary Montessori teaching credential from a MACTE-accredited institution or on track to obtain one within two years of hire
- Two years of professional experience as an aide, assistant, or lead teacher of children from infancy through third grade OR Four years of professional experience as an aide, assistant, or lead teacher of children from infancy through third grade
- Ability to pass background checks, tuberculosis screenings, and trainings required by the state of Kentucky
- Ability to independently supervise, communicate effectively with, and care for young children safely, including ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
- Access to reliable transportation to and from work and ability to consistently attend work as scheduled
- Must obtain MACTE-accredited Primary Montessori credential within two years or provisional employment until credential obtained
- Provisional credential options through the Bezos Academy Montessori Credential Program (MCP) or MACTE-accredited program at own expense
- Participation in MCP is voluntary and unpaid
