Job Summary
Provide operational leadership for facilities, environmental services, dietary, supply chain, security, or transportation departments across Montana healthcare organizations. Maintain safe, clean, and functional environments while managing preventive maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure. Oversee food service operations, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships. Plan for severe weather, wildfire, and supply-chain disruptions; support capital projects and emergency preparedness. Recruit, train, and develop staff; develop policies and prepare for inspections. Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and tribal leaders to ensure essential operations continue during emergencies, staffing shortages, or equipment failures. Manage department budgets, staffing, and performance while building relationships with local vendors and community partners.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in healthcare facilities, environmental services, food and nutrition, supply chain, materials management, security, safety, emergency preparedness, logistics, or another support services area
- Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, or comparable professional
- Strong knowledge of the regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements relevant to the position
- Experience managing teams, budgets, vendors, inventory, equipment, construction, or facilities
- The ability to prioritize competing needs and respond calmly to operational challenges
- Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working collaboratively with clinical, administrative, financial, executive, tribal, and community departments
- Experience supporting multiple facilities, reservations, remote locations, or geographically dispersed operations
- Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, public hospital districts, tribal healthcare organizations, regional health systems, long-term care providers, or community healthcare organizations
- Relevant education, certification, or technical credentials based on the position
- A visible, dependable, practical, and service-focused leadership style
- Whether you are open to relocation or regional travel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with emergency preparedness, life safety, infection-prevention support, or disaster response may be valuable
- Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, public hospital districts, tribal healthcare organizations, regional health systems, long-term care providers, or community healthcare organizations
- Some opportunities may prefer credentials related to facilities management, safety, emergency preparedness, environmental services, food service, supply chain, construction, biomedical equipment, or another operational specialty
- Experience supporting multiple facilities, reservations, remote locations, or geographically dispersed operations may be valuable
