Job Summary
Lead quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, infection prevention, or regulatory programs across Montana healthcare organizations, including rural hospitals, clinics, tribal groups, and regional systems. Monitor quality indicators, incidents, and performance trends while leading investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning. Develop policies, compliance plans, and reporting systems to support regulatory surveys, accreditation visits, and readiness activities. Manage risk identification, mitigation, and organizational learning while educating staff on expectations and partnering with clinical, operational, and executive teams. Prepare reports for leadership and governing boards, track improvement plans, and help organizations respond to changing regulations and rural operational challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in healthcare quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, infection prevention, privacy, or regulatory affairs
- Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, officer, supervisor, coordinator, or comparable professional
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, quality improvement, compliance, privacy, and risk-management practices
- Experience with audits, investigations, corrective action plans, surveys, accreditation, or regulatory readiness
- Strong analytical, communication, education, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across clinical, operational, technical, executive, tribal, and community departments
- Experience leading quality or compliance programs across multiple facilities or geographically dispersed teams may be valuable
- Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, public hospital districts, tribal healthcare organizations, regional health systems, long-term care providers, or community healthcare organizations
- Relevant education, licensure, or certification based on the position
- A practical, fair, transparent, and relationship-focused leadership style
Desired Qualifications
- Some opportunities may require or prefer credentials such as CPHQ, CHC, CHPC, CPPS, CIC, ARM, RN, or another quality, compliance, risk, privacy, safety, infection prevention, or clinical credential
- Experience leading quality or compliance programs across multiple facilities or geographically dispersed teams may be valuable
