Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for IT, health information management, cybersecurity, or clinical informatics across rural Montana healthcare organizations. Lead EHR optimization, infrastructure modernization, and business continuity planning while strengthening patient data privacy and security compliance. Oversee medical records integrity, vendor management, and technical support teams to ensure reliable telehealth connections and accurate information flow in geographically isolated settings. Manage projects, budgets, and system integrations to support clinical, operational, and executive leaders in improving care coordination and organizational performance.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in healthcare IT, information systems, HIM, medical records, clinical informatics, privacy, cybersecurity, data management, or technology operations
- Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, CIO, privacy officer, security leader, or comparable professional
- Experience with healthcare systems, EHR platforms, networks, infrastructure, applications, telehealth, data, privacy, or records management
- Knowledge of HIPAA, information security, health information regulations, documentation standards, and data governance
- Experience managing projects, vendors, contracts, budgets, implementations, integrations, or system upgrades
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, disaster recovery, backup, access management, or business continuity
- Strong communication, problem-solving, project-management, and team-development skills
- Experience working with clinical, operational, financial, compliance, executive, tribal, and community leaders
- The ability to translate technical or regulatory information into practical guidance for employees and leaders
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations or services spread across significant geographic distances
- Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, public hospital districts, tribal healthcare organizations, regional health systems, long-term care providers, or community healthcare organizations
- Relevant education, certification, or technical credentials based on the position
- A practical, responsive, collaborative, and service-focused leadership style
Desired Qualifications
- Some opportunities may prefer credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CHPS, CPHIMS, CISSP, PMP, HCISPP, or another healthcare information, privacy, security, informatics, or technology certification
