Job Summary
The Monitoring Technician will assist the Ecological Monitoring Program at NMFWRI with data collection, analysis, and science communication, ensuring effective collaboration with field crews and stakeholders. Candidates should possess strong attention to detail and time management skills while engaging in various field activities, including quality control of collected data and training others. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant natural resource field, some field crew experience, familiarity with ecological monitoring protocols, and Wilderness First Aid certification. The role necessitates working under challenging environmental conditions and maintaining clear communication with team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource field
- One season’s experience on a field crew
- 1-year or more experience in the measurement of ecological indicators
- 1-year or more experience with plant ID
- Wilderness First Aid or higher certification
- Previous work experience providing quality control for collected field data
- Continued employment contingent upon maintaining authorization to work in the U.S.
