Job Summary
Co-design evaluations with partner organizations, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or quasi-experimental designs where appropriate; advise on counterfactual design; manage ongoing evaluations (RCTs and quasi-experimental studies); provide MEL technical assistance and coaching to grantees; guide implementation of stronger data collection, analysis, and learning processes; maintain regular check-ins and help grantees communicate results to donors, investors, and researchers; translate MEL concepts into practical guidance for non-specialist audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of MEL experience with organizations in international development or economic inclusion
- Experience designing or managing randomized controlled trials (RCTs)
- Track record working with implementing organizations in Africa
- Advanced skills in statistical analysis; proficiency in R or Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization
- Ability to translate technical MEL concepts for non-specialist audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, lean funder environment
- Individual Consultant role
- Preferred location: India and East Africa
- French language capability (preferred)
