Job Summary
Monitor Technician position at Sentara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA. Responsibilities include observing, recognizing, interpreting, evaluating, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. Requires completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course or equivalent experience, and successful completion of Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool after new employee orientation. Strong preference for basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG; related health-care experience viewed favorably. Required Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equivalent - Required
- Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire or substitute with 1 year of recent monitor technician surveillance experience within last 5 years
- Must pass Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool after orientation
