Job Summary
Monitor patients in the Burn/Wound ICU PT Day by performing clerical and receptionist duties while assisting clinical personnel with nonclinical tasks. Act as a resource for patients and family/visitors by addressing administrative needs respectfully and adhering to infection prevention policies. Recognize basic cardiac rhythms including EKG changes of acute MI, V TACH, V Fib, or heart block, and notify the RN of the EKG or any alert regarding critical results. Provide patient comfort and safety by communicating effectively with the patient, family, and medical staff during the continuum of care. Report matters requiring Nursing intervention immediately and comply with Joint Commission's national patient safety goals. Maintain cooperative working relationships with the hospital team while utilizing resources economically. Requires Basic arrhythmia and/or 12-lead ECG course or equivalent work experience, plus BCLS or ACLS Certification.
