Job Summary
Monitor patient heart rhythms and vital signs while interpreting alarms and following set algorithm parameters. Call other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed, and stock supplies. Tear down and assemble patient charts using basic computer keyboarding skills. Provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients depending on location. Summons nursing staff if a patient requires assistance. Works rotating 12-hour shifts totaling 20 weekly hours at Sanford Health's Aberdeen Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Must be able to tear down and assemble patient charts
- Must be able to call other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures
- Must be able to stock supplies
- Must be able to monitor and interpret patient heart rhythms and vital signs
- Must be able to follow set algorithm parameters
- Must be able to interpret alarms
- Must be able to follow through with appropriate communication
- Must be able to provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients (depending on location)
- Must be able to summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance
