Job Summary
Monitor Technician responsible for continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors to assess and document patient cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and communicate findings to the healthcare team. Duties include interpreting rhythm strips, notifying nurses of rhythm changes, troubleshooting monitoring equipment, ensuring proper lead placement and electrode configuration, organizing equipment during shifts, and supporting patient safety and care delivery. Requires the ability to operate telemetry equipment, strong attention to detail, and effective communication, with orientation to a telemetry/EKG interpretation course and BCLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required
- 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
