Job Summary
Assess EKG strips to interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Troubleshoot monitoring problems by identifying probable causes and seeking corrective solutions. Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition while promptly reporting malfunctions. Requires knowledge of cardiac rhythms and basic EKG interpretation; certification as a CCMTT or CRAT preferred. Full-time days or PRN schedule available at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of cardiac rhythms
- Basic EKG interpretation
- Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association
- Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular
