Job Summary
Conduct bedside patient care in the Emergency Room by placing patients on cardiac monitors, performing phlebotomy, and completing EKGs prior to blood work. Transport lab specimens and assist with patient positioning, lifting up to 50 lbs using proper body mechanics. Maintain and clean department equipment, troubleshoot alarms at the central station, and document rhythms into the EMR using two patient identifiers. Observe and immediately report changes in cardiac rhythms, arrhythmias, or cardiac arrest to the RN and physician. Remain at the central monitoring station unless directed by nursing leadership and assist with training new staff on medical monitoring systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Paramedic or EMT CC preferred program or NA/ MA with ability to read to telemetry monitors
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong communication skills

- Min one-year phlebotomy experience
- Current BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association
