Job Summary
Monitor Support Specialist — also known as a Cardiac Monitor Tech or Telemetry Tech — supports patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks, including recording telemetry strips, reporting dysrhythmias to the RN, responding to monitor alarms, admitting patients to arrhythmia monitoring, changing batteries and electrodes, reviewing alarm trends, and documenting patient information and charges. The role involves maintaining telemetry monitoring, ensuring records and reports are accurate, assisting with orientation of other Monitor Techs, and providing customer service regarding telemetry issues. Required Qualifications
- High school graduation required
- Basic EKG class and monitor orientation required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations to complete necessary patient record documentation
- Current BCLS Certificate
