Job Summary
Monitor is an entry-level, on-site role ensuring shelter security and client safety. Responsibilities include monitoring shelter entrance, screening bags and persons, patrolling premises, maintaining safety and reporting incidents, supporting client participants, and assisting with on-site services and transportation as needed. Requires fingerprint clearance, background checks, TB screening, immunization records, and compliance with required trainings; preferred qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, California driver’s license, clean driving record, and basic database familiarity. This is a part-time shift with on-site duties and a focus on security of participants, staff, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance
- Background check including criminal history
- Personal references
- Employment and education verifications
- Current TB screening and Immunization Records (within 5 days of hire)
- Copy of Current Professional License (if applicable)
- Current BLS Certification (within 15 days of hire)
- Completion of all required trainings (within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to perform under emotional stress and conflicts with challenging clients
- Education: Within 30 days of hire, must complete VOALA safety training
