Job Summary
Maintain continuous state of alertness to control and secure the facility and residents while operating within legal constraints and contract agency stipulations. Ensure watch equipment is operational, prepare shift documentation including reports and work orders, and conduct facility counts and radio checks. Frequently patrol buildings to observe residents, monitor security, and perform scheduled or random activities such as urinalysis, pat downs, and breath tests. Organize resident work details, conduct cleanliness checks of facilities and personal belongings, and document disciplinary actions for rule violations. Welcome and verify visitors, communicate professionally with residents and staff, and participate in staff meetings to resolve problems. Adhere to attendance policies, company policies, and facility safety rules, and be available to work any shifts or overtime to ensure adequate coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year general work experience
- Sufficient organizational skills to keep the workflow on-going in an orderly manner
- Ability to express thoughts logically, in both written and verbal form using correct grammar
- Demonstrated flexibility in order to perform a wide range of duties
- Ability to interact effectively with others and learn supervisory techniques
- Ability to maintain positive relation with staff and residents
- Ability to motivate and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm toward work ethic
- Ability to work with computers and the applicable software typically used by the facility
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a related field is preferred
