Monitor, Campus Safety

Campus Safety Monitor provides security and safety services on a school campus under the supervision of an immediate supervisor. Responsibilities include controlling authorized access to the campus, patrolling buildings, facilities, and grounds, observing student behavior during and around school hours, engaging students outside class to ensure authorization to be outside the classroom, identifying and reporting safety or security issues, assisting staff with maintaining order during activities (hall monitor, lunchroom duty, bus arrivals/departures, parent pickup), escorting visitors as needed, and performing other duties as assigned. Skills and competencies include safety and security procedures, conflict resolution, dependability, judgment, negotiation, and effective communication. Qualifications specify a high school diploma or GED with security experience preferred; one year of work experience is noted; certification/licenses are not required.
