Job Summary
Molecular Technologist responsible for performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical molecular laboratory testing, accessioning and processing patient specimens for molecular diagnostics, executing NGS workflows, performing nucleic acid extraction and quantification, maintaining accurate patient testing records, conducting quality control and ensuring compliance with GLP, CLIA, and CAP standards, participating in proficiency testing and quality assurance initiatives, troubleshooting instrument and process issues, maintaining inventory, mentoring staff as appropriate, and supporting additional laboratory initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution
- Experience working in a CLIA-certified molecular laboratory
- Knowledge of molecular laboratory techniques, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) PCR, qPCR, and RT-PCR
- Nucleic acid extraction and quantification
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- CLIA and CAP regulations
- Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism
- ASCP Molecular Certification required for Level II and Level III candidates
- Reliable transportation
