Job Summary
Conduct high-quality molecular test data generation with rapid turnaround in a cutting-edge clinical laboratory. Perform complex procedures including quantitative PCR, next-generation sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, and genotyping while maintaining competency under CAP, CLIA, and NYSDOH regulations. Execute quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing; sterilize equipment and workspaces as assigned. Enter clinical patient data into the Laboratory Information Management system and identify deviations from standard operating procedures to apply routine fixes. Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions under direction. Maintain precision in a fast-paced environment supporting Tempus' proprietary platform that connects real-world evidence to deliver actionable insights for personalized cancer care.
Required Qualifications
- MS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science
- BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science
- At least 0-6 years pertinent clinical laboratory experience with molecular biology
- At least 0-6 years of pertinent clinical lab experience in molecular biology
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with others to plan and carry out scientific programs
- Self-driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction
- Strong desire to build products that will save lives and change the course of cancer
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Maintain competency to perform all assigned molecular biology protocols in accordance with CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with next-generation sequencing
- Work in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory
- Experience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems
- Knowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems
