Job Summary
Molecular Technician at Veracyte supports analytical and post-analytical specimen processing and test performance under licensed supervision, contributing to molecular genetic testing workflows, quality control, and daily lab operations. Responsibilities include assisting with processing of clinical specimens, maintaining lab organization, troubleshooting, reagent preparation, inventory management, data entry, and participation in research/validation activities. The role requires adherence to quality systems and safety procedures, ability to work across shifts (Sun–Thu, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM onsite in South San Francisco), and familiarity with LIS and Microsoft Office. A high school diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred and 1+ year lab experience; strong communication skills and the ability to follow procedures are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a laboratory setting
- Ability to navigate laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
- Demonstrated self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to follow procedures and quality systems
- Capable of assisting with preparation and storage of reagents
- Understanding of compliance regulations related to test ordering
