Job Summary
The Molecular Technician will assist with molecular laboratory processes for routine specimen processing under supervision, support sample processing across multiple molecular workflows to meet turnaround times, prepare and store reagents, follow SOPs, and notify supervisors of processing issues. Responsibilities include maintaining lab organization, inventory of materials, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, QC/QA activities, data entry and quality control of spreadsheets, and potential training of non-licensed personnel. The role supports internal/external customer service and adherence to regulatory requirements; duties include performing site/lab-specific tasks as assigned and working Sunday through Thursday, 12:00pm–8:30pm. The final salary is influenced by experience and location, with a pay range offered between $29 and $33 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s, or higher, degree in chemical, physical, biological sciences, or medical technology from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience; clinical molecular laboratory experience highly preferred
- Ability to navigate laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Shift: Sunday-Thursday 12:00pm - 8:30pm
- BSL-1/BSL-2 environment exposure
